Canadians have been waiting to see what the federal government would do with right-to-die legislation ever since the Supreme Court brought down its decision in Carter a year ago in February, and gave the then-government a year to amend the Criminal Code to conform.

One thing that can be said so far of the Liberal government – the titles of their proposed legislation are to the point, if not exactly lyrical.

Properly deployed, the TFWP and Express Entry program should be good for Canadian business and the Canadian economy.

When the new government announced last fall that it intended to reinstate the Court Challenges Program, which the previous government was in the process of winding down, the CBA was very happy with the decision.

What price justice? The CBA doesn’t put a figure on it, but it does recommend a number of principles be adopted by the commission calculating the appropriate pay for federally-appointed judges and prothonotaries.
