The CBA hosts roundtable at Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law on Mar. 19

The Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) National magazine, in collaboration with CBA Member Services and Young Lawyers-CBA, is hosting its first roundtable in the series Inside the Bar at Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law on March 19, from 12 to 2 p.m. in Room 105, Weldon Building.

CBA urges fine-tuning accountability of public office holders under the Statutory Review of the Conflict of Interest Act

The Canadian Bar Association (CBA) is contributing to Parliament’s review of the Conflict of Interest Act, making recommendations that would fine-tune the accountability of current and former public office holders including politicians, senior public servants, and order in council appointees. The CBA also recommends that other officials not currently required to report, such as the governor of the Bank of Canada, be added to those already subject to oversight by the Ethics Commissioner.

CCCA’s National Spring Conference to be held April 14-16, 2013 at Hilton Toronto

The Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) will hold its National Spring Conference April 14-16, 2013 at the Hilton Toronto. Keynote speakers include Fortune 500 veteran and past General Counsel of Starbucks Coffee Company, Paula Boggs, and the Judge Advocate General of the Canadian Forces, Major-General Blaise Cathcart, CD.
