Kimberly Gee, Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law, is the runner up in the 2019 Privacy and Access Law Student Essay Competition

The CBA Air and Space Law Section is pleased to announce Ashley Reid is the first-ever winner of the Air and Space Law Essay Contest, for her paper entitled Legal and Factual Obstacles to the Enforcement of Patents in Outer Space. Ashley Reid is a second-year student at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law.

Giancarlo Mignardi of Queen's University is the winner of the 2019 Paul Smith Memorial Award for his paper titled, Select Issues with Curial Deference on the Basis of Administrative Expertise A Behavioural Approach to Canadian Administrative Law’s “Prodigal Child” (paper only available in English).

Anika Winn of the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law Program is the winner of the 2019 CBA Health Law Student Essay Competition for her paper titled, Affirming Health as a Positive Right in Canada: Lessons from South Africa.

Frances Ankenman of the University of Victoria is the winner of the ADR Law Section's 2019 James L. Thistle Q.C law student essay competition for his paper titled, Dispute Resolution in the Era of Reconciliation: Recommendations for the Revitalized Environmental Assessment Process in British Columbia.

Riley Weyman is the winner of the 2019 NEERLS Law School Essay Contest Gowling WLG - David Estrin Prize for his paper entitled "Environmental Liability?: The Current State of Alberta’s Oil and Gas Well and Oil Sands Mining Liability Regimes"
