At the CBA Mid-Winter meeting in February, Council approved a new Strategic Direction for the CBA, which summarizes our aspirations, values and the foundation on which we’ll build a better association.

Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould brought a message of change and reconciliation in her first address to CBA Council, at the Mid-Winter meeting in Ottawa in February.

The Canadian Bar Association introduced a free, comprehensive new tool to address an inherent knowledge gap on children’s rights in Canada. The CBA Child Rights Toolkit is designed to help lawyers, judges and other professionals advocate, adjudicate and make better decisions for children.

The CBA Anti-Corruption Team is honoured to be a content partner of the Telfer Going Global Anti-Corruption Program.

New rules mandate firms to declare whether they, or an affiliate, are under charge or have been convicted under Canada’s anti-corruption laws during the past five years.

The first program of its kind, successful completion of all three phases will provide graduates with the designation of Certified In-House Counsel – Canada (CIC.C).
