Raphael Jacob  

Raphael Jacob is the current Section Chair. He is a Senior Associate in BLG’s Calgary office and practices primarily in insurance defence, construction and commercial litigation. Raphael is also an officer of the CBA Alberta Insurance Law Section and board member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Western).

Graeme Maitland  

Graeme Maitland is the Vice-Chair of the Section Executive. He is an Associate at Aarbo Fuldauer LLP in Calgary and practices general civil litigation with a focus on employment, human rights and family law. He is currently a Member-at-Large of the CBA Alberta South Young Lawyers Section where he was a previous Chair. In addition, he is a Member-at-Large of the CBA Alberta South Small, Solo and General Practice Section.

Emma Marie MacIntosh  

Emma Marie MacIntosh works in the Litigation Department at the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. She is the chair of the CBA Young Lawyers Mental Health & Awareness Committee, and a member of the CBA Nova Scotia Sexual Harassment Work Group. The work group has developed Bystander Intervention Training tailored to legal workplaces.

Eugene Chao is the current communications officer. He has a broad litigation practice with the Department of Justice and Public Safety, Newfoundland and Labrador. Eugene is also the treasurer for the CBA Newfoundland and Labrador branch.

Sylvia Yong  

Sylvia Yong is the current Past Chair of the Section. She is a Manager/Lawyer with KPMG Law LLP based out of Toronto, practising in the field of U.S. and Canadian immigration law. Sylvia is also the Chair of the Canada Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), sits on the AILA Board of Governor, and serves as a Mentor with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Ontario).
