Emergency powers beyond COVID-19: What we’ve learned during the pandemic – and what we still don’t know (January 18, 2022)

Governments across Canada have made regulatory history since March 2020. We will consider some of the legal frameworks that have enabled this real-time government decision making. We will also discuss the role of the courts in reviewing emergency orders, and the implications of the precedents established during the pandemic for future governance.
