WHEREAS annual membership fees are indexed by the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index calculated on March 30 of the preceding year;
WHEREAS the Consumer Price Index for March is not available until the end of April;
WHEREAS the CBA budget process starts in March each year;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Article 1(1)(e) of the CBA Regulation be amended to provide that, effective January 1, 2004, the indexation of membership fees (other than for law school students) will be based on the Consumer Price Index calculated on January 31 of the preceding year.
