In an effort to go green (reducing our environmental footprint) and to cut back on increasing postage costs, the CBA is introducing a fee for members who wish to continue receiving a paper bill. For the 2017-18 membership renewal, a $3.00 fee will be added for any member who wishes to receive a paper bill.
Will I continue to receive a paper bill?
If you opt for paperless billing, you will only receive the electronic version.
Is there a fee to receive a paper copy?
Yes, a $3.00 fee will be been added to your annual renewal notice should you wish to continue receiving a paper notice.
What if I want to pay by cheque?
Even if you opt to receive a paperless notice, you can still pay by cheque, should you wish. You will have the option to print your notice, which can be submitted with your cheque payment. Cheques can be made payable to The Canadian Bar Association and sent to:
Canadian Bar Association
500-865 Carling Ave
Ottawa ON K1S 5S8
What if I am currently enrolled in a pre-authorized monthly payment program?
If you are currently enrolled in one of our pre-authorized monthly payment programs you can still opt to receive a paperless copy of your annual renewal notice. You’ll receive your notice by email and should you wish to continue paying through the pre-authorized monthly payment program, your membership payments will continue.
You will only need to inform us should you wish to make changes to your payment method – changing credit card numbers or banking details OR switching to pay your membership fees in full.
How do I update my billing preferences?
Your billing preferences can be updated at any time.
