Call for nominations: CBA National Elder Law Section

The CBA National Elder Law Section is seeking nominations for Communications Officer, a Secretary, and up to 10 Members-at-Large, for the term September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.

Communications Officer

The Communications Officer is responsible for preparing minutes of meetings and conference calls in a timely manner and is responsible for keeping Section members informed of key Section activities, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved in the work of the Section.

Secretary

The Secretary prepares minutes of meetings and conference calls in a timely manner and assists the Executive Committee as needed.

The Secretary sequentially occupies each office through to Past Chair, which involves a five-year commitment.

Members-at-Large

Member-at-Large positions are open to Section members who wish to actively participate in the work of the Section. Members-at-Large attend meetings and conference calls as they are able and provide input or take responsibility for various tasks as they arise. There are many opportunities to assist.

Young lawyers (within 3 years of call) and students with a particular interest or relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Nominations

Nominations must be received by May 31, 2024. When filling positions, the Section takes various factors into account, including language, geographic representation and diversity. We consider members who are familiar with and active in Section activities, but also seek new participants.
