Advocacy updates and more!

  • April 20, 2023

Our Section had one of its busiest years ever in advocacy, developing submissions in response to the initiatives of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) Canada and the Competition Bureau.

In particular, the Section and its committees have been extremely active in preparing submissions on ISED’s consultation paper on the Modernization of the Competition Act. In addition, the Section commented on the government’s proposed amendments to the Investment Canada Act focusing on national security.

Finally, we have prepared a detailed commentary to the Competition Bureau’s draft guidance on wage fixing and no poaching agreements. Additional advocacy relating to ISED’s modernization review is anticipated in the coming weeks.

We encourage you to get caught up on our initiatives and to register for the spring conference!
