Use your voice: Apply to be a Board member

  • March 12, 2018

CBA members who want to put their stamp on the Association now have their chance.

The terms of Board members from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, P.E.I., Yukon and Northwest Territories conclude this year. Applications for directors from those provinces opened on March 6 and will close on April 3.

Board members from Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nunavut, Quebec and Saskatchewan will complete the second year of their two-year term in 2018-2019. These individuals, along with incoming Vice President, Vivene Salmon, who is currently the Board member from Ontario, will help orient new board members and ensure continuity.

As always, we’re looking for Board members who together reflect the diversity of the legal profession and the geography of Canada, as well as a mix of practice, year of call, language, skills and experience.

This year when one door closes another opens – also on April 3, we will start taking applications from those who wish to sit on a Board committee or subcommittee. That application period closes on April 30, which is when we will start taking applications for Section executive members. That period closes on May 31.
