Justice Wagner’s appointment maintains the tradition of alternating between jurists trained in common law and civil law. Making important contributions to the law and to the legal profession even prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court in 2012, Justice Wagner is known for his clear reasoning and writing, his patience and willingness to listen, and his ability to reconcile opposing views with a smooth touch.
