4. Implementation Calendar

SAGDA and GDAG will advocate for the implementation of the Trans Access to Justice Report, sharing the report broadly and with the stakeholders listed in the report.

In Spring 2024, SAGDA will host an in-person meeting with the 2SLGBTQIA+ Secretariat, during which discussions will be had to advance the policy priorities outlined in the resolution.

Recommendations of the Trans Access to Justice Report are implemented.

The Federal Government Strategy on Hate targeting 2SLGBTQI+ people and communities launches and is implemented.

A roundtable discussion of Ministers responsible for Human Rights is hosted to engage on the reported increase in Transphobia and Homophobia in Canada.

CBA/TRANSforming Justice/HALCO Report Access to Justice for Trans People

The CBA supported previous Bill C-36, amending the Criminal Code and Canadian Human Rights Act on hate propaganda, hate crimes, and hate speech. The bill died on the Order Paper with the 2021 election:
