NetZero 2050 – Emerging Renewable Energy and their Regulation: Large-Scale Wind, Solar, Tidal and Offshore Wind Energy – Cross-Canada Analysis of Regulatory Regimes

The Section is excited to host a member engagement event on the topic of Canada’s commitment towards achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2050. The session will feature a discussion with industry and community representatives and stakeholders around the role of the renewable energy industry in achieving NetZero2050. Participants will also learn about some of the great projects being planned by the Section for the year ahead.

The event is open to CBA members and non-members (including non-lawyers) and we encourage Section members to promote it to their respective networks.


Gowling WLG – David Estrin Essay Contest Winner

The Section is pleased to announce Cindy Kim as the winner of the 2021 Gowling WLG – David Estrin Essay Contest for her paper, “In the Wake of Redwater: Environmental Claims in the Context of Canadian Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law”. The award consists of a cash prize of $1,000 and the winning paper will be posted on the Section webpage. The prize is presented annually for the best scholarly paper submitted to the Section on a subject directly related to environmental, energy or resources law in Canada. Congratulations, Cindy!
