Register now for CBA’s 2026 Health Law Summit

Join colleagues from across the country at the CBA Health Law Summit, presented by the Canadian Bar Association’s Health Law Section, taking place May 21st to the 23rd 2026 in historic Quebec City. This in-person conference brings together health law practitioners, scholars, and policymakers to discuss current developments and emerging issues shaping health law in Canada.

The agenda includes a mix of plenary sessions and panels focused on practical and timely topics such as regulatory and policy updates, health system governance, patient safety and liability, digital health, and equity-informed approaches to practice. Alongside strong professional development, the conference offers meaningful opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the country.

CBA’s Health Law Essay Contest

Calling all law students with an interest in health law! The 2026 CBA Health Law Student Essay Contest, presented by the Canadian Bar Association’s Health Law Section sponsored by Carbert Waite LLP, is now open for submissions.

This national contest invites students to explore timely and important issues in health law and share their perspectives through original written work. During the Section’s biennial PD conference, the award includes a cash prize of $1,500 sponsored by Carbert Waite LLP, complimentary registration to the PD conference, presentation of an award certificate at the conference, and publication of the winning paper on the CBA Health Law Section webpage.

The contest is a great opportunity to showcase your research and writing skills, contribute to meaningful conversations in health law, and gain recognition within the broader legal community.
