Advancing Labour and Employment Law
The CBA Labour and Employment Section’s mandate includes labour and employment law and practice. We promote professionalism, share information and advocate on legal issues involving:
- Collective agreements
- Arbitration of labour disputes
- Labour-management relations
- Trade unions
- Boards and tribunals dealing with labour-management relations and employment standards
- Establishing these boards and appointing members
- Legal practice before labour-management and employment standards boards
Our Section also liaises regularly with:
- The American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section
- Canadian Human Rights Commission
- Canadian Industrial Relations Board
- Department of Justice Canada
- Employment and Social Development Canada
