On September 7, 2014, a team of women lawyers from Vancouver took part to the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope. Together, we raised $6,359.84, making us the fourth top fundraiser in Vancouver and the 49th in Canada.
Unfortunately, that amount is more than six times smaller than what the BC WLF team was able to raise last year and we are wondering if the (too) popular Ice Bucket Challenge may have distracted a few of last year’s supporters…The good news is we still have until September 21 to improve our national ranking! We promise, no ice cold shower will be involved! And if you don’t want to go as far as Sarah Li, who raised money by cutting 12 inches of her hair to donate it to a local charity that makes wigs and provides them free-of-cost to cancer patients, please donate to our team!
