1977: The year Quebec prohibited discrimination based on sexual orientation

In 1977, sexual orientation became a prohibited ground of discrimination under the Charter of human rights and freedoms. This Quebec law applies to juridical acts (contracts, wills, etc.), labour relations, goods and services ordinarily offered to the public and the leasing of a dwelling.
