Key Public Sector Cases Across Canada: Annapolis Group Inc v Halifax Regional Municipality, 2022 SCC 36 – May 11, 2023

We are excited to announce the latest installment of our ongoing lunch time “brown bag” series Key Public Sector Cases Across Canada. This upcoming session will focus on the recent Supreme Court Canada decision of Annapolis Group Inc v Halifax Regional Municipality, 2022 SCC 36 where the Court, for the first time since Canadian Pacific Railway Co v Vancouver (City), 2006 SCC 5, reconsidered the test for constructive taking (de facto expropriation) of private property.

We are privileged to have legal experts from local, provincial and federal governments, including the government lawyers who participated in this case, share their views on the potential implications of this ruling on governments. Stay tuned for more information about our speakers and the content they will be presenting. The event webpage will be updated with more details.

This presentation is free for CBA members.
