The Employment Conditions of Public Sector Lawyers – March 4, 2022

The program will highlight and discuss the working conditions of lawyers in the public sector. The presentation will cover compensation, job security, the future of public sector lawyering in an era of contracting out and legal robots, efforts to organize for non-unionised lawyers and any recent or upcoming collective bargaining negotiations for unionised lawyers.

2021 John Tait Award of Excellence Recipient

Dean Scaletta is the winner of the 2021 CBA John Tait Award of Excellence. He is recognized for his leadership in the public service and in the legal profession which spans over 30 years, his professionalism and expertise, and his commitment to social justice.

Promote “In the Public Interest” Student Essay Contest. Students can win $500 for the best paper written about the contribution of public sector lawyers or an important development in the law affecting public sector lawyers in Canada (deadline May 2, 2022).
