Join us May 5 to honour the memory of Fred Bartley, a member of our Executive, who passed suddenly on September 27, 2020. Fred was a proud member of the Serpent River First Nation and award-winning Anishinaabe Crown attorney. Fred played an important role in the establishment of a Gladue Court in his community. A tribute to Fred Bartley, Gladue Courts, and the contribution of public sector lawyers – May 5, 2022

The session will explore the creation of the Gladue Court at Old City Hall in Toronto in 2001 and the model that followed. It will explore the role and importance of the Gladue Court in upholding Gladue principles.

The speakers will also address ways in which public sector lawyers can play an important role in the betterment of their communities.

This presentation is free for CBA members.
