Wondering about the key differences between Quebec’s Bill 64 and the federal government’s Bill C-11? François Joli-Coeur covers them in his article “Key Differences Between the New Federal and Quebec Privacy Bills”.

Get involved!

We’d always love to hear from you if you’d like to get more involved.

  • If you’ve attended the CBA’s annual Access to Information and Privacy Law Symposium, you already know it’s a fantastic event (even online during a pandemic – check out last year’s recordings if you haven’t already)! The secret of its success is its volunteers. Planning has already begun for the 2021 Fall Symposium, so if you would like to be on the Symposium organizing committee, wish to be a speaker or a moderator, or merely have a great idea for an agenda topic, we are all ears!
  • The Section’s Student Essay Contest is back for a third year and we are now accepting submissions! Deadline April 30, 2021.
    • We welcome members interested in being on our review committee (French speakers are especially helpful).
    • Or perhaps you are, or know, a full-time undergraduate student interested in submitting a paper?
  • Submit an article for publication on our Section webpage.

Stay tuned…

Our submissions on the Privacy Act review and Bill C-11 are coming soon!

Yours truly,

Caroline Deschênes
