“Ethics and Wellbeing: How the Elevated Incidence of Mental Illness is Impacting the Profession” by Roza Milani, explores the prevalence of mental illness in the legal profession and the role it plays in professional misconduct and incompetence cases.

Alberta

The CBA Alberta Health Law (South) Section presented “What the Heck is Surrogacy and Fertility Law” in December (available on-demand). Ellen Embury provided an overview of her fertility and surrogacy law practice and discussed the unique challenges during the pandemic.

British Columbia

On January 13, 2022, the Honourable Chief Justice Hinkson will speak to the CBABC Health Law Section  on “Practical and Ethical Considerations When Dealing with Unrepresented Litigants”.

Ontario

On February 24, 2022, the OBA Health Law Section will present “Health care law and its intersection with the indigenous experience”. Also, save-the-date for the Section’s “Mental Health and the Law” program taking place April 4, 2022. The program will look at the intersection between mental health and professional regulation.
