On behalf of the CBA National Construction and Infrastructure Law Section, I would like to thank you for your continued support and contributions towards our ongoing success. Last year, the Section won the National Sections Council Award of Excellence. As an active Section, the executive is excited to continue the momentum and invites members to get involved. Members are encouraged to submit articles for the publication Skylines. We also invite you to join our LinkedIn page to receive updates.

Upcoming Events

  • September 2017: Open to all law students, the Section continues to hold its annual Atrium Law School Essay Competition on construction and infrastructure law.
  • September 28, 2017: Register for the newly created “Introduction to Construction Law and Construction Projects” webinar series, targeted for lawyers new to construction and infrastructure law.
  • October 26, 2017: Register for the Good Faith in Construction Contracts Updates webinar. A panel of leading experts from across Canada will present on recent developments on the law of good faith in construction contracts.
  • October 2018: We will hold our biennial construction law conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our speakers will discuss P3s, the Infrastructure Bank, and the most recent developments in construction law. Stay tuned for more information.

Section Activities

  • A young lawyers committee has been established to encourage and ensure involvement of young lawyers in construction and infrastructure law. Please contact Crystal if you would like to join.
