LG CNSL 2 :$132,933.85 - $172,397.83 annually
LG CNSL 3: $177,522.56 - $203,858.14 annually

Currently, the Vancouver Group of the Legal Services Branch is looking to add one full-time, permanent Legal Counsel (LC 2/3) to the team of solicitors who provide a broad range of legal services to the Liquor Distribution Branch (“LDB”) on a multitude of issues related to and arising from the business of the distribution and retail of liquor and non-medical cannabis in the province.  The successful candidate will be required to provide technical and strategic legal advice to the LDB on corporate and commercial matters, matters of policy and regulation, and should expect to be required to undertake a significant amount of drafting and contractual interpretation. The position will be based in the downtown Vancouver offices of the Legal Services Branch.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Must be a member in good standing or immediate eligibility for membership in the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Level (LC 2/3) dependent on years of call with a minimum of six or more years of call to the bar in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • Recent experience negotiating, drafting, and interpreting contracts and agreements.
  • A broad range of corporate-commercial legal experience
