Loblaw’s Quebec legal team oversees a broad range of work including real estate, leasing and franchise matters for Provigo / Maxi and Pharmaprix. This group is now seeking a Legal Counsel with leasing and commercial real estate experience to join its legal team. You will analyze, interpret, negotiate and draft a broad range of legal agreements including letters of intent, leases, sub-leases and amendments. You will also advise on general real estate, litigation, franchise and expropriation matters. This individual will report directly to the Senior Director, and be located in its office in Montreal.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of commercial leasing and real estate experience gained with a major firm and/or corporation. Any experience in franchise law will also be of interest. You will also need to be a strong negotiator, collaborator and communicator, able to take initiative and be a team player. The ability to juggle competing obligations in a fast-paced environment will be required to succeed in this role as will leadership traits.
