Choice Properties’ portfolio of properties is internally managed, operated and led by an experienced management team with a strong understanding of the Canadian real estate sector. It is currently seeking a Leasing Law Clerk to join its legal team, reporting directly to the Director, Legal Counsel. Your responsibilities will include dealing with commercial leases, renewals, amendments and extensions, sub-leases, and all other related ancillary documents, and providing general support to the business on leasing defaults and real estate matters, Liaising between different business groups and departments within Choice, you will need to employ a dynamic work ethic. Some training will be provided if needed. This position is located on the subway line at Yonge and St Clair, however, there is flexibility to work partially from home.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of leasing experience gained from a law firm or in-house with a real estate company. General commercial real estate experience as well as experience with title searches will also be seen as an asset, but not a requirement. In order to succeed in this role, you will need to have exceptional written and communication skills, be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and take initiative. Excellent communication skills with the ability to take initiative and work within a team will be essential to succeed in this role. A natural curiosity, internal motivation and engagement with the work will be important. Experience with Teranet will be an asset.
