Each year the Law for the Future Fund grants thousands of dollars to support research projects of national interest. Diversity and access to justice initiatives received the bulk of this year’s funding.

CALLING FOR HERO AND ALLY NOMINATIONS

The CBA Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community is accepting nominations for its Hero and Ally Awards, which recognize excellence within the Canadian legal profession in advancing the cause of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited people. The awards will be presented at the CBA President’s Dinner on Feb. 12, 2019. Deadline is Dec. 3, 2018. Visit the Ally Award and Hero Awardwebpages for details.

CBA VISCOUNT BENNETT FELLOWSHIP DEADLINE APPROACHES

Law school graduates who are planning to pursue post-grad studies in law are invited to apply for the $25,000 Viscount Bennett Fellowship, established to encourage a high standard of legal education, training and ethics.
