WHEREAS CBA Sections are often the first and primary connection between members and the Association and play an integral role in the recruitment and retention of CBA members

WHEREAS the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is one of the largest enforcement agencies in Canada, has armed agents, and regularly exercises powers of search, seizure, arrest and detention

WHEREAS there have been numerous recent media reports of sexual harassment and sexual assault in well-known and well-respected Canadian institutions in the public and private sectors

WHEREAS the CBA established the International Development Committee as a committee dedicated to the development of fair justice systems throughout the world

WHEREAS successive uncoordinated amendments to CBA Bylaws and Regulations have resulted in uncoordinated, contradictory and vague aspects of the formal process for the review, revision and debate of Council resolutions

WHEREAS the National Immigration Law Section wishes to manage increased activity levels by expanding the number of Executive Members that participate on its executive committee
