National Environmental Law Section By-Law

WHEREAS the National Environmental Law Section Executive has considered a report concerning the name and mandate of the Section and has approved expanding its mandate to include energy and natural resources law;

WHEREAS the Section Executive also wishes to reflect the active participation of Members-at-Large by granting them voting status on the Executive Committee;

BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1. Article 6(6) of the CBA Regulations be amended to replace “Environmental Law” with “Environmental, Energy and Resources Law”;

2. The terms of reference for the National Environmental Law Section in Article 6(7) of the CBA Regulations be repealed and replaced with:

“Environmental, Energy and Resources Law

This Section deals specifically and in depth with matters of legal reform, legal education and management relating to the environment, energy and natural resources.”

3. The National Environmental Law Section By-Law be amended to incorporate the amended name and terms of reference; and

4. Article 5(a)(iii) of the Environmental Law Section By-Law be amended to replace “non-voting” with “voting.”
