Non-Voting Members of Council

  • August 11, 2001

WHEREAS CBA By-Law No. 1 prescribes the number of non-voting members that each Branch must elect to the National Council;

WHEREAS prescribing a fixed number gives insufficient flexibility to Branches in setting the size of their Branch Councils;

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Article 73(2)(a) and (b) of CBA Bylaw No.1 be amended to replace the words "equal to" with "up to", so that each Branch can elect a number of non-voting members up to the maximum stipulated.
