The Canadian Bar Association wholeheartedly condemns the attacks of Hamas on Israel, its murder of civilians, and kidnappings for use as hostages and human shields in Gaza.
There is no justification for terrorism or for brutal attacks on civilians. Violence is not a solution nor a legitimate way to resolve disputes. We condemn these acts, and call for the immediate release of those being held hostage.
The CBA reiterates the importance of the rule of law as the foundation that supports democracy, human rights, and freedoms and calls upon all parties to spare the lives of innocent people.
