Statement from the President of the Canadian Bar Association on the murder of Julia Ferguson

Stephen Rotstein, President of the Canadian Bar Association wishes to extend his condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Julia Ferguson who was attacked and stabbed while at work at a Toronto law firm on September 2. She has since succumbed to her injuries.

The suspect has been arrested and charged. Police say he had an unspecified connection with the firm.

“Our hearts are broken for the family and friends of Julia Ferguson,” Rotstein said. “Members of the bar are united in their grief. Everyone who knew her praised her selflessness and her kindness. Our most sincere sympathies to her family, friends and colleagues.”
