The CBA Legal Conference in St. John's, August 14-17

Ottawa — Some 650 people are expected to attend the 2014 Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Legal Conference in St. John’s, August 14-17. The theme of the conference is Converging Futures as the CBA comes together to focus on what the legal practice of tomorrow will look like.

  • Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin speaks at 9:00 am Thursday, August 14, Delta St. John’s, Salon A
  • Informal media briefing with Chief Justice follows immediately after in St. Mary’s Bay, main level, Delta St.  John’s
  • Debate on resolutions throughout the day August 14 in Salon A, Delta St. John’s
  • Release of CBA report on Future of Legal Practice, August 14, 11:00 am, Salon A, Delta St. John’s, (embargoed copies available in advance)
  • Breakout sessions, August 15-17
  • President’s awards to be presented on August 13 at President’s Dinner; Glendenning Golf Club, 120 Gabriel Road, at 9 pm
