The CBA welcomes new Minister of Justice

OTTAWA — The Canadian Bar Association (CBA) welcomes Peter MacKay as the new federal Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, as announced in today’s Cabinet shuffle. 

“The CBA looks forward to meeting the new Minister in the coming weeks to discuss issues of mutual concern and interest,” says CBA President Robert Brun, Q.C. of Vancouver. 

The CBA wishes former minister Rob Nicholson well as he takes up his new duties as Minister of National Defence.

The Canadian Bar Association is dedicated to support for the rule of law, and improvement in the law and the administration of justice. Some 37,000 lawyers, notaries, law teachers, and law students from across Canada are members.
