Tourism season in Ottawa coincides with consultation season for the federal government, which means that when Parliamentarians go home to their constituencies, the work of the Legislation and Law Reform department ramps up.

L’édition 2016 de la conférence juridique de l’ABC s’est terminée sur une bonne note avec une entrevue en direct avec Judy Smith, l’avocate qui a inspiré le personnage fictif d’Olivia Pope, une experte en gestion de crises. Avant cet entretien, une réunion historique du Conseil, le concours tout aussi historique Le Pitch, une foule de séances de formation continue, des conférences intéressantes et une soirée intime en compagnie de Sam Roberts ont également eu lieu.

Plus de deux années de travail acharné, de consultations pancanadiennes, de sollicitation de rétroaction et de négociations à huis clos ont culminé en août avec la réunion du Conseil de l’ABC, au cours de laquelle un nouveau modèle de gouvernance a été accepté dans le but d’engager l’association dans une voie où les membres représentent la priorité absolue.
