Brad Regehr is the new CBA Vice-President

Brad Regehr, the Board member from Manitoba, is has been elected to the position of CBA Vice-President.

In his statement of intent for the job, Brad says he will further the work done by the CBA in access to justice, as well as in diversity and inclusivity.

Overall, he says, “I intend to focus on ensuring that the CBA remains the voice of the legal profession. I want to focus on not just maintaining our membership but increasing it. In order to do that, we must constantly increase the value of the CBA to members and non-members. In particular we need to focus on the needs of young lawyers and law students.”

Brad has been a CBA member since law school and is a familiar face to many through his extensive involvement in the CBA over his career, including chair of both the Manitoba and National Aboriginal Law Sections, and President of the Manitoba Branch.

He is a partner with Maurice Law, Barristers & Solicitors, where his practice focuses on Aboriginal, administrative, corporate/commercial and real property law. He earned his bachelor degree from the University of Waterloo in 1993 and his LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 1996. He was called to the bar in Manitoba in 1997.
