The Write Your Wrong campaign, launched by the National Women Lawyers’ Forum, SOGIC and the Equality Committee, has received a number of stories from lawyers who’ve experienced sexual harassment in the workplace. It has also received a number of questions from members about the need for such a campaign.

Professor Gerry Ferguson’s course Global Corruption: Law, Theory and Practice, which he’s teaching this fall at the University of Victoria, marks two firsts: it’s the first course on anti-corruption at a Canadian law school, and he’ll be teaching from the first coursebook focused on the law of anti-corruption available globally – a book in which the CBA’s Anti-Corruption Team played a key role.

Janet Fuhrer of Ottawa becomes president of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) at the 2015 CBA Legal Conference in Calgary on August 16. She begins her one-year term at the close of the conference, succeeding Michele Hollins, Q.C., of Calgary.

Frédéric Pérodeau of Montreal has been named Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) for 2015-2016, a post he takes over from Heather Innes, of Toronto, on Aug. 16, 2015.

Today, the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) launched its Election Engagement Strategy calling on federal candidates to embrace an agenda for equal justice. The two-track campaign will focus on key equal justice issues that it believes should be on Canadians’ minds as they head to the polls in the fall.
