NEERLS SUMMIT

Things are growing more contentious in Canada’s energy sector, which means it’s a good time to join your peers from across the country, representing all sides of the debate, at this year’s NEERLS Summit in Winnipeg at the end of May.

Titled “The Intersection of Energy and the Environment,” the summit will examine emerging trends and recent developments in environmental, energy and natural resources law at the federal and provincial levels.

One session that is sure to be a draw is the perennially popular Cross-Canada Hot Topics, which this year will include B.C.’s perspective on the ongoing pipeline debate and expert commentary on various aspects of the recent overhaul to the federal environmental regulatory regime. Other sessions will look at agriculture and the environment; environmental issues from the U.S. perspective; climate change compliance in the energy sector; and the responsibility for end-of-life environmental obligations, among others.

The conference, which runs from May 31-June 1, includes an opening-night reception at the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg.

It’s not too late to register for what promises to be an interesting conference. Find more information online.
