Statement Against the Immigration Detention of Children

October 4, 2016

The CBA, along with nearly 400 other signatories, sent a statement dated October 4, 2016, that urges the government of Canada to end the immigration detention of children on the grounds that:

  • Children should not be subject to immigration detention
  • Children should not be separated from their parents or primary caregivers
  • There are viable alternatives to immigration detention
