There are a total of seven prizes available to be won, each being the membership fees (inclusive of GST) for a one-year membership term commencing on September 1, 2020 and ending on August 31, 2021 (the “Membership Term”) with the branch of The Canadian Bar Association (the “CBA”) associated with the Canadian province or territory in which the winner is licensed to practice law or in which the winner is articling or completing his or her Bar Admissions course as part of the province’s or territory’s law society or bar admission program (provided that if there is more than one applicable province or territory, the winner may choose the applicable province or territory) for the following membership types only: Regular, New Lawyer/Intermediate, or Articling/Bar AD Student (the “Membership Types”). Approximate retail value of each prize ranges from $174.00 to $651.00 depending on the winner’s applicable CBA branch and Membership Type (e.g. NU - Articling/Bar AD Student: $182.70; NU - New Lawyer: $266.18; NU - Regular: $572.25; PEI - Articling/Bar AD Student: $200.10; PEI - New Lawyer: $291.52; PEI - Regular: $626.75; AB - Articling/Bar AD Student: $216.09; AB - New Lawyer: $316.27; AB - Regular: $683.55). Skill-testing question required. Open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who: (1) are natural persons who are 19 years old or older; (2) were not members of any branch of the CBA between September 1, 2020 and January 5, 2020; (3) qualify for membership with the CBA in one of the Membership Types at the time of entry and will qualify for membership with the CBA in one of the Membership Types during the Membership Term.
