Submit a request for pro bono assistance - Afghanistan


CBA volunteer immigration lawyers will only be able to offer pro bono assistance to individuals who have an application in process with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or who have received an invitation from the Government of Canada. Please indicate in the Intake Form if you have an application in process or if you have received an invitation. If you do not have an application in process or have not received an invitation, you will not receive a response.

Please fill out the information below to determine your eligibility for pro bono assistance during the crisis in Afghanistan. A volunteer immigration lawyer will strive to get in touch with you within three (3) business days.

Are you an Afghan national?


Do you currently have, or have you had a legal representative assisting you with this matter?
If you are currently outside Afghanistan, have you registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees or any refugee-helping organization/authority? *
Have you received a formal status/recognition as a refugee (not just a refugee claimant)?
Do you have family members living in Canada?


Have you been referred for resettlement to Canada?


Do you belong to any of the following groups? Women leaders, human rights defenders, religious or ethnic minorities, LGBTQ2SI individuals, journalists, people who helped Canadian journalists.
Have you submitted an immigration application to the Canadian government (e.g., visitor visa, permanent residence, refugee)?
Did you or your family members help the Canadian government in Afghanistan?
Have you been instructed by the Canadian government to submit an application?

The information you have provided will be emailed to the volunteer immigration lawyer that you have specified in the form. The data will also be accessible to CBA staff.
