In response to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the CBA Environmental, Energy and Resources Law Summit until next year.

We are currently investigating options for a new date in Spring 2021 and this will be communicated to all participants as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please be aware of the following information:

Registration Fees

Existing registration fees will be applied towards the spring 2021 event. Should you be unable to participate in the new date once announced, registrants will be given the opportunity to request a full refund.

All reservations will be automatically cancelled for those who have reserved within the conference room block at the Hilton Toronto. If you have booked alternate accommodations, please cancel accordingly.

Major airlines including Air CanadaPorter and WestJet are waiving fees to change flights due to coronavirus. Conditions may stipulate that a change can only be made once and/or during a specified period of time. We recommend that participants follow-up directly with their airline or booking agent.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding during this unpredictable time.

The 2020 CBA Environmental, Energy & Resources Law Summit offers 20/20 visionary insight into: recently amended/new Federal environmental statutes, learnings from the development of Canadian major energy projects, climate change constitutional challenges and climate change risk, what’s new across the country, and ethical issues for lawyers working with scientists and other non-lawyer professionals. The 2020 Summit also includes two practical advice-driven and instructive breakout sessions. Young lawyer sessions offer (i) a high-level review of various Federal environmental statutes, and (ii) a survey of the elements of typically pleaded environmental civil causes of action. Intermediate and senior lawyer sessions examine (i) challenging issues common to civil, administrative and quasi-criminal environmental litigation, and (ii) structuring renewable energy project deals.
