Secretary-Treasurer Position 2008-09
The Canadian Bar Association, Northwest Territories Branch is seeking nominees for the position of Secretary/Treasurer beginning September 1, 2008. Members considering this office should be cognizant that it is a four-year commitment -- As the CBA-NT uses the ladder approach - the Secretary-Treasurer moves on up the ladder to become President 3 years from the start of their term. Candidates should be prepared to work within the "team" framework to advocate on behalf of the CBA members in the NWT.  For further information contact:  Linda Whitford

Membership Chair - Effective September 1, 2008
A new Membership Chair for the Branch is required as of September 1st, 2008.  If you are interested in undertaking this responsibility, please contact
Linda Whitford no later than July 31, 2008. 

Section Chairs
All Sections should have their Chairs confirmed for the coming year no later than August 15th, 2008. The CBA – NWT Branch has the following Sections: Aboriginal Law; Administrative Law; Criminal Law; Elder Law; Energy and Environment Law; Family Law; Labour and Employment Law; Poverty Law; Public Sector Lawyers;  and Young Lawyers.

We are also looking for a member to coordinate the LPAC initiative in the NWT. If you are willing to let your name stand for any of these positions, please advise the Executive Director by July 31, 2008.
