Thursday June 26 , 2008 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP: Mastering Non-Verbal Communications
Experts estimate that up to 93% of effective communication is non-verbal. Can you read the signs?
In this interactive and informative workshop, Dr. Kimberley Mullins, an expert in non-verbal communications will lead participants to better understand non-verbal communication.
Topics Include:
- Exploding Myths of Non-Verbal Communication
- Reading Others: What to watch for and “Baselining”
- You Don’t Say: Is your body language undermining your message?
- Matching: Using non-verbal cues to improve networking
Presenter: Dr. Kimberley Mullins
Dr. Kimberley Mullins holds an honours degree in Performance Studies and an interdisciplinary PhD in Performance and Politics from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, UK. Dr. Mullins’ research and practical experience is focused on non-verbal communication, particularly in the areas of communication for professionals and those in political life. She is a Weston scholar, a Canadian Merit scholar and a 2004 recipient of the CIBC/YWCA Young Woman of Distinction Award. In addition to her day job, Kimberley holds a position as part-time faculty at Memorial University, conducts training in communication and performance, and provides individual communications coaching.
