he People’s Law School and public libraries hosted four well-attended law classes which were free for the general public from April 16 to 19, 2007 in Greater Vancouver communities. The topics of the classes included landlord and tenant law, scams to avoid, and wills and estates. Thanks to Andrew Nip of the People’s Law School and to the Burnaby, Coquitlam and Surrey public libraries for organizing these classes.
The People’s Law School provides public legal education to all residents in British Columbia and whenever possible, they also provide public legal education to people in BC’s immigrant communities in their own languages. The People’s Law School is an independent, non-profit, non-political Society whose purpose is to provide British Columbians – especially those with particular legal needs – with reliable and impartial information about the law. They accomplish this by means of speakers, training workshops, publications, theatre, and special events. For more information, please visit www.publiclegaled.bc.ca.
