ach year the Law Week Committee of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association invites students enrolled in grades 8-12 in British Columbia to participate in our annual essay contest. This year's topic is "The Law: Past, Present and Future." Law Week commemorates the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and is an opportunity to improve public understanding of the law and the legal system. We believe this province-wide essay contest offers students such an opportunity. Schools throughout British Columbia are encouraged to hold essay competitions.
