Professional Development5.2 400 Years of the Military in Quebec and Canada (1608 – 2008)Tuesday, August 19, 2:30 – 4:00 There is no disputing that wars waged on Canadian soil and those waged abroad by our military have forged the nation’s legal and constitutional framework. In this 400th year after the founding of Québec City, our panel will explore the military in Canada and Québec City as a military fortress. Eminent military historians Jack Granatstein and Serge Bernier will cover one of these two topics in each of the two official languages. The links between Canada’s military history and legal evolution will be at the heart of the discussion. Speakers: |
