In a Letter to the Editor of the Globe and Mail, CBA President Bill Johnson criticized the paper for a March 8 editorial that unfairly propagated an imbalanced and inaccurate view of Canadian lawyers and the value of litigation in dispute resolution.
“To cite extreme and fictitious American case law to substantiate a stereotypical view of the Canadian legal profession is dishonest … and ignores the work of thousands of lawyers across this country who work diligently, fairly and successfully to resolve the issues brought by their clients,” wrote Johnson.
