Registration

How do I register?
Registrations are completed online. To register for a current program, visit http://www.cba.org/pd and enter the program title in the keyword field. Select ‘Search’.
Can more than one person participate?
The registration rate is for individuals only. However, if there is more than one registrant in your office, you may certainly view the session together.
Our firm wants to register a group. Is there a reduced rate?
There are two ways to register a group. If your group is less than 10 people, you would register each person individually in the program. If your group is more than 10 people, please contact us at pd@cba.org to discuss group rates.
Why can’t I log in to the presentation?
Registrants can only log in to the presentation approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. At the appointed time, you will need to "enter as a guest" to access the meeting. Should you still encounter problems, please contact technical support at 1-888-563-4743.

What are the minimum technical requirements to view the presentation?
In our experience, almost every system can accommodate our platform. To view the webcasts, you must have the following minimum technical requirements:

Can I get materials prior to the session?
A reminder message will be e-mailed the day before the session to all registrants with access details for the presentation as well as copies of the PowerPoint and other speaker materials (if applicable).
Recordings

I won’t be able to attend the presentation. Are materials available for purchase?
A recorded version of the event and related materials will be available for purchase following the conference. Please contact pubs@cba.org for more information.
I am interested in a past session. How may I purchase it?
To order a past online PD program, please contact our Publications Department at pubs@cba.org.
I prefer watching recordings. Can I just buy the recordings instead of registering?
Recordings are only available for purchase 1-2 weeks following an event. Please check with your local law society to determine how accreditation requirements may change in the recorded environment.

I live in a jurisdiction with mandatory PD (MCLE, CPD) requirements. Do these programs count? What about recordings?
• Many online PD programs are approved for LawPro credits (Ontario only).
• In most jurisdictions, the time spent attending an online program may be applied towards annual CPD requirements (please check with your law society to confirm).
I live in Quebec and need an attestation form for each program I attend. How do I get it?
Attestation forms will be emailed following the program. Please note that if your firm purchased a boardroom registration, and hasn’t provided us with a list of participants, we will not be able to provide you with an attestation form.
I live in a jurisdiction with an ethics, professional responsibility and/or practice management (EPPM) requirement. Do these programs qualify?
If a program contains EPPM content, it will be identified in the Accreditation portion of the event webpage.
Accessing the presentation

How does an online PD program work? Do I need any special computer equipment?
It is a web conference. The audio portion is delivered over the phone or computer speakers and the visual (a PowerPoint) will be delivered over the Internet (please note that the audio portion for the Skilled Lawyer Series presentations is only available over the internet). Registrants with speakers set up on their system do not need to dial-in. Logging into the presentation will present you with both audio and visual components. Participants will have the opportunity to submit written questions. They do not require a microphone or any other special equipment in order to participate.

How do I access the presentation?
Upon registration, you will be emailed your registration confirmation which contains full access instructions. You may wish to enter these instructions into your calendar.
I don’t see anyone on screen- should I?
You should be seeing a PowerPoint on screen, not faces. Some programs have integrated video clips and in those cases, you will see people on screen at some point during the presentation.

How do I pay?
You can pay when you register using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) or indicate that you will be paying by cheque. Cheques can be sent to:

I want to pay by cheque. Can I still register online?
Yes, simply select ‘Cheque’ from the payment options menu. Once your registration is submitted, a new screen will appear detailing where to send your cheque.
I’m not comfortable giving my credit card information online. Can I still register?
Although the CBA uses some of the most secure solutions available to protect credit card information, we understand that some people may not wish to submit this information online. If that is the case, please call 1-800-267-8860 to register.
What is the cost of an online PD program?
At the present time, cost of registration is $100 for CBA members and $200 for non-members, plus applicable taxes. This is a per person rate.
For the Skilled Lawyer Series programs, registration costs are as follows:
For the Litigation or Corporate Stream (all 8 programs):
CBA members: $800
Non-members: $2,000
Plus applicable taxes
For individual programs:
CBA members: $125
Non-members: $250
Plus applicable taxes

Are there student rates available for these programs?
While we do offer student pricing for our PD conferences, the live online PD programs are already being offered at a value-added rate. We believe that registrants are getting excellent value for the cost of registration, including:
i. A live online presentation, delivered by an expert speaker;
ii. A cohesive PowerPoint presentation; and
iii. The opportunity to interact with, and ask questions of, the speaker.
How do I get a receipt?

Cancellation Policy

Effective January 1, 2012
If you are unable to attend a program for which you are registered, the following options are available to you:
1) A complimentary recording of the session will be sent to you within 5-10 business days of the session.
2) Transfer of registration to another individual*
3) Transfer of registration to another program^
* Additional charges may apply dependent on membership status
^ Applicable only to CBA National programs currently open for registration, additional charges may apply do to program fees.
